Version 4.00 doesn't really mark any significant changes but the previous version which was 3.99 could only be logically followed by incrementing the major number.
Version 4.40 brought in the first native 64 bit release which improved the performance of loading large images (more than 25 megapixels).

What works
Most everything appears to work normally, but I did not fully regression test with the new Wine version 7.20 and later before I downgraded to working version 7.19.
What does not
The legacy PDF plugin ImPDF.dll used for saving PDF files is broken as of Wine version 7.20. I also confirmed it is broken with Wine version 7.22. It works just fine with Wine version 7.19 and earlier (as far back as I can remember).
Steps to reproduce:
Workarounds
Downgrade to Wine version 7.19.
What was not tested
Almost every other feature with Wine version 7.20 and newer. With Wine version 7.19 and earlier every feature I have ever used works flawlessly.
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
If you don't use the ImPDF.dll plugin then you probably won't notice any difference using IrfanView between Wine versions 7.19 and 7.20-22. However, I use this plugin almost every day and I cannot upgrade Wine until this issue is fixed.

- correct the selection by dragging the left selection border to another position
--> the double-ended arrow cursor ofen is not correctly aligned with the selection border
I guess this happens, when the image is zoomed.
