Version 4.00 doesn't really mark any significant changes but the previous version which was 3.99 could only be logically followed by incrementing the major number.
Version 4.40 brought in the first native 64 bit release which improved the performance of loading large images (more than 25 megapixels).
Works everything I have tested with the proccess described in extra comments.
What does not
Didnt found any problem
What was not tested
I had to install it in a Windows computer, copy/paste the IrfanView folder to .wine Program's one. You must have MFC42.DLL library.
