Version 4.00 doesn't really mark any significant changes but the previous version which was 3.99 could only be logically followed by incrementing the major number.
Version 4.40 brought in the first native 64 bit release which improved the performance of loading large images (more than 25 megapixels).
This version seems to work well. I printed, painted, viewed thumbnails in a directory with over 3800 images.
What does not
Haven't seen anything not work yet.
What was not tested
Twain scanning, pasting images into Irfanview.
