What works

joystick works now. appears to be a build error in suse wine build for version 0.9.30 ( linux 2.2 joystick api support not linked in )

glide emulation (with zeckenzacks 3dfx voodoo emulator ) works OK now, frame rates

25 - 80's depending on scenery etc... (nvidia 7300 GT )

joy2key ( mapping keys on joystick buttons ) works sort off;

the bomb key and f1/f2 key cannot be suppressed but keys are mappable.

What does not

one key on numeric keypad doesn't work entirely properly;

that is, keypad_0 ( show in-game map ) does not get transmitted / understood.

( in fact, numlock on + 0/Ins key )

keypad_INS works ( quick chat hotkey )

Looks like game works on scancodes, Xserver sends xkeysymdef symbols, wine is apparently not translating them to scancodes

this is rather ugly, players rely on it.

might be X server keyboard handling needs to be configured differently
