What works

Gameplay

What does not

  • Info box for a person - you must close it by pressing ENTER, mouse clicks do not work for this.
  • Sound - attempting to turn on sound causes game to crash.
  • Fast Mode is not much faster than normal. I was running BOINC at the time however, so that probably slowed it down.

Additional Comments

SimTower installation was copied from Windows. Some graphics eg elevators work almost properly, but not quite. Clicking on something with the info tool, when another window (a normal window not a WINE window within the virtual desktop) is selected causes two parts of the tower to be displayed at once, until you close the info box.

HowTo / Notes

WARNING: NO SOUND!

At present, do NOT attempt to play SimTower with sound support enabled.

It will crash or hang infinitely, depending on your Windows version setting. In either case, it's not playable.

Disable sound, either by editing SIMTOWER.INI or disabling your sound device in winecfg's audio tab.

This is true as of 1.1.13 and today's latest git (1-23-09).
