What works

The installer ran just by using wine setup.exe. As the other posts mentioned, the game would crash unless sound support was disabled. I also encountered the "quirk" with saving the first game, in that all I got was .TDT. Other than not having sound, everything seemed to be alright. I did not expirence any problems with gameplay, nor with saving or opening a file.

What does not

Sound, having ALSA or OSS in either standard or emulated support did not work. Also, and I don't know if this is a problem or not, but wine did not create menu icons for KDE as my other programs have.

What was not tested

Nothing that I know of.

HowTo / Notes

At present, do NOT attempt to play SimTower with sound support enabled.

It will crash or hang infinitely, depending on your Windows version setting. In either case, it's not playable.

Disable sound, either by editing SIMTOWER.INI or disabling your sound device in winecfg's audio tab.

This is true as of 1.1.13 and today's latest git (1-23-09).
