HowTo / Notes

Missing dlls

Seems that wine currently doesn't provide these XINPUT and X3DAudio dlls.

Downloading these will get you past these errors

(err:module:import_dll Library X3DAudio1_1.dll(which is needed by L"C:\\Ohjelmatiedostot\\Reality Pump\\Two Worlds\\TwoWorlds.exe") not found)

, but in current stage it won't get this to work.

just had to place the missing DLL file into the system32 folder of wine. well.. and get wmp9 installed via winetricks, which will allow you to install the codecs on the TW DVD. runs stable, just some graphical glitches. see the following link:
appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=16103

the only thing i didn't do was install DX, since its not needed for new versions of wine.

The game installs, but doesnt run with an eror:
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x1b5f85c,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_CheckDeviceMultiSampleType Quality levels unsupported at present
err:ole:CoInitializeEx Attempt to change threading model of this apartment from multi-threaded to apartment threaded
fixme:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Acquire Clipping cursor to (0,0)-(1024,768)
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_CreateAdditionalSwapChain The app requests more than one back buffer, this can't be supported properly. Please configure the application to use double buffering(=1 back buffer) if possible
I tried to add registry key in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Wine Direct3D and add
OffscreenRenderingMode = fbo
UseGLSL = enabled
but problem still appears.
RE: doesnt run

I was able to run the game. Menu and movies work fine. To play game I had to lower all the settings apart resolution. Game has a problem with graphics so it looks very bad ( Ageia drivers problem) . Game after couple of minutes playing crashes. (not exactly only graphics are not rendering well, it's like a lot of triangles on screen nothing else.
