What works

Everything seems to work, it is just so slow as to be unusable.

What does not

The registration key that I put in the initial install did not "register" with the program. When I opened it up it told me I was in trial version and asked for a registration key. I put my key in again and it was accepted.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Creating maps and modifying them. It just took too long to even open one up.

Additional Comments

I followed the same basic procedure that Ralf used, except I used Winetools and Winetricks and ies4linux. Note: I am a Wine newbie, so all of these steps might not be necessary, and there might be easier ways to do it. This was the procedure that I used, though, and it worked. My basic procedure was as follows: Download and install Winetools - Go through "Base Setup" [1] - Go to "Windows Systems Software" and install "Windows Installer," "Visual Basic 5 Runtime," "Visual C++ run-time English," and MDAC 2.8 and Jet 4.0 SP8 English" (I'm not sure all of those are necessary, but that's what I did and it worked) - Go to main menu and install all of the Microsoft TrueType core fonts Download Winetricks (just download it as winetricks, no extension, and "all file types") - go to whatever directory you downloaded winetricks to - chmod 777 winetricks - install the Tahoma font (./winetricks tahoma) - change the Wine version to Windows XP (Winetools sets it up as Windows 98 by default; Winetricks will change it to Windows XP with this command: ./winetricks winver=winxp) Reboot Wine using Winetools "Simulate a Windows Reboot" Install IEs4Linux (follow the instructions there for "Ubuntu," install all of the versions of IE, and do not change the default directory) Reboot Wine one more time (this might not be necessary) Install Mindmanager * It opens pretty fast but modifying maps makes it too slow to be usable. I let it sit for about 5 minutes trying to open a small map and it still wasn't done, so I ended the program. Oh well :(
