What works

Installing, patching, audio, creating a character, using an existing character, quests, trading, combat, macros, using the Kingdom Reborn tiles and using the Legacy tiles.

What does not

There are glitches with the map, where it will get out of sync and the background of the map will not be where you actually are (though waypoints and such are in the proper locations relative to your character).

If you move the bag then you will see that your items are on the screen and able to scroll past the actual bag window. The quest/talk windows also some times do not redraw properly, and many other windows have minor problems with drawing though I have yet to find one that I could not use. Some text in the chat window are distorted in some cases while scrolling, though it is perfectly readable most of the time.

Additional Comments

The game is quite slow (though completely playable for me). I have put quality settings on minimal and, in case it matters, I'm using "OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo" (in the [Software\\Wine\\Direct3D] section of my ~/.wine/user.reg). If pixel shaders are turned off in winecfg then water and blood is completely black.

Problems with mouse

This can be solved for some clients by setting "MouseThread=off" in every uo.cfg (there are many for each character and one global).

Problems running uo.exe

You can safely use client.exe for the game and run uopatch.exe from time to time manually.

Connecting to free shards

You have to disable encryption for your client:

1. Either you can find already patched client for your shard (browse the shard forums). And you can run it like the normal one (tested by Plague).
2. Or you can patch the client yourself using UO Rice (some say this can be only done on Windows and before any patching) and then run the patched client. (suggested by sk8dork, not tested by Plague).
