Multiplayer doesn't work out-of-box ("disconnected from TCP/IP"), but this can be fixed.
Multiplayer often goes out of sync without a warning, while Windows versions do not seem have this problem.

Installing "directplay" was necessary via winetricks for the LAN multiplayer to work.
The rest of the game works perfectly with a clean wineprefix.
