Single player works flawlessly. That would get a Platinum rating, but see below.
Multiplayer (after adding the DLLs) also works perfectly, both as a client and the server.
Version: 1.27 Polish
What does not
Mouse cursor is not hidden. Use this as a workaround: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=881#c19
Multiplayer requires native DirectPlay DLLs.
What was not tested
Massive multiplayer settings - I could only test 1v1 against Windows.
IPX support of DirectPlay - but who uses that anyway?
If using ALSA: either use "Driver Emulation" option in winecfg, a hardware mixing card, or a libsamplerate ALSA resampler plugin from alsa-plugins package. (Add: defaults.pcm.rate_converter "samplerate_best" to ~/.asoundrc or /etc/asoundrc - alternatively try "samplerate_medium" or "samplerate" if it is too CPU intensive) Otherwise, the sound is tinny due to cheap dmix resampler. Other outputs won't suffer from this problem. Get DirectPlay DLLs from here, and set them all as "Preferred native": http://www.thehandofagony.com/alex/dll/dplaydlls-win98se.tar.bz2 Multiplayer will only display the machines from the same subnet. Use IP address window in the other case.
