Garry's Mod

What works

Everything that comes with an initial gmod install works flawlessly, i fact gmod works better in wine that in windows xp!

 There is one slight problem, i have submited a bug report, we will see what happens.

What does not

if an object falls on you, or an enemy, and it does it in just the right way, the game will skip... skip... crash. Also, nukes will cause the same issue, no matter how far away you are from the nuke itself.

EVERYTHING was tested, ive been playing it through wine for almost 2 months. the only problem is mentioned above.

If your garry's mod crashes before submitting a bug or commenting on here, here is what you should try:

This should fix any HUD issues you may have: (You may not be able to see certain effects like fire in the game with this)
In steam right click Garry's mod click Properties click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." Enter this:
-dxlevel 81
to run in windowed mode add: -window -h 864 -w 1152

This will stop the crash when being killed by a moving object:
In winecfg (terminal -> winecfg) click Add application on the Applications tab
Browse to Program Files\Steam\steamapps\(username)\garrysmod
select hl2.exe and click Open
With hl2.exe selected in the list change the windows version to Windows 98 (via the drop down box near the bottom is should be default say "Use global settings")
Hit Apply/OK, then try to launch Garry's mod again
