Additional Comments

The DVD drive had to be mapped to a drive letter in winecfg, otherwise the game could not detect the DVD (a DRM issue, as I had done a complete game install).

Slow on wine versions after 3.2
by mar77i on Friday March 30th 2018, 2:21
For this game to work reasonably well I had to set HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct3D/csmt to 0, since otherwise the performance of these games is ridiculously limited.
"sleep" movie crashes the game
by John on Sunday June 12th 2011, 5:56
In my experience with Wine 1.3.21, sometimes the "sleep" movie (the one that starts when you rest the party) crashes the game at the very first frame with the CPU at 100%. Have you ever noticed this?

Just upgraded to 1.3.21, tested like 10 times and nothing.

Uhm uhm, I think it is an issue related to my NVidia drivers 270.29.
I got this backtrace after a Ctrl+c:

Well I don't remember it crashing, the only thing I do is turn of antialiasing because it corrupts menus sometimes.
Wyvern death animations
by Brent Bowman on Friday June 13th 2008, 7:39
I was playing this game and it would cracs every time I killed a Wyvern. This bug is present under windows as well, but I found a solution. Change the Game Play settings in the Auto-Pause section. Make the game Pause every time one of your characters kills a foe. This may be slightly irritating, but I only turn it on when fight wyverns - then I shut it off. I also had to use it for an assassin in the sewers. Happy Gaming.

Thanks, Brent, I'm not sure if I already mentioned it, but I have observed this bug too. I've only killed one wyvern so far, so I wasn't sure that it was wyverns but it sounds likely. Thanks especially for the advice on how to avoid it!

Cursor
by Andrea Bocci on Wednesday April 18th 2007, 19:23
Hi,
I don't have a fix for the cursor issue, but I do have a workaround: once the game is running, hit Alt-F4: you will be prompted to really leave the game. Answer 'No' and get back to the game - for me this makes the extra cursor disappear :-)
