What works

Simply Accounting 2007 Pro was already installed successfully under Wine 1.4 with no problems.

This second test was performed after installing the Wine 1.5 packages for Ubuntu 12.04 from the Wine PPA.

Noticed only that the initial splash screen works now - it did not appear under Wine 1.4.

When the "Select a Company" window appears the Sample Company and Create New Company options both fail as with the same installation under Wine 1.4.

What does not

Everything - the program fails before it can do anything meaningful.

Nothing was tested as the program fails very quickly.

* This test was performed using Simply Accounting Pro 2007 as it was installed by Wine 1.4. If anybody feels that I should execute the test again, from scratch, using Wine 1.5 I will be happy to try. * The program apparently fails when it tries to access the database? If this is true then perhaps the failure is limited to specific Windows DLL's and, as I have many licenses for Windows XP, it might be possible to copy those DLL's into the Wine installation. However, I have no experience with this process. If anybody would like to point me to instructions I'll be happy to try again.
