On my computer with an Intel 82865G video chipset, the game starts up as expected. The games run fine for the most part. The menu system works. When installed, the application appears in the Wine menu.
What does not
On my other system with an ATI card, the game fails to run at all.
On my Intel system: The sound is extremely jumpy. The game only fills up a 320x240 corner of the screen in full-screen mode, but this can be remedied by configuring Wine to give Smash Pack 2 its own virtual desktop.
What was not tested
The control configurations; the save feature in Shining Force.
CD checking can be circumvented by copying the files AUTORUN.INF and SETUP/SETUP.INI from the CD to a local folder (leave SETUP.INI in a folder named SETUP) and configuring Wine to use this folder as a CD-ROM drive.
