I've reported this in older test data but I'll list it again:
while trying to connect wine will connect to an IP which is not the one of the server you try to play in (116.0.0.0 in my case), just use IP tables to redirect packets on the right IP and have fun.

Be sure not to choose something over Windows 98 under the Applications Tab or the game will crash while trying to render the login screen (This may not be true on all Distros) I had a small sound delay but I fixed it installing the last Ubuntu low latency kernel
