BloodRayne 2

BloodRayne 2, developed by Terminal Reality, is a horror-themed third-person action video game. It does not follow on directly from where BloodRayne finished; instead, it takes place between sixty and seventy years later, in a contemporary(2000s) setting. This game could possibly be set in 2004, the year the game was released. (from Wikipedia entry) English DVD retail Version.

What works

Installation runs smoothly. After applying No CD & removing videos - I've left Cutscene.exe as the only file in the video directory. Run in a virtual desktop. Always starts with the video config tool. Leaving all settings off seems to give the best performance. Starting a new game (if you can guess the main menu) Resuming an ongoing game (again with suitable menu guesswork) Cutscenes (all in engine rendering) Audio (perfect) The game in general, in fact aside from the font and menu issues described below game plays pretty well indeed.

What does not

Starting the game without a NO CD crack. Videos crash the game out. Menus - including the main menu do not display any text at all. Yes that includes even the 'new game', 'load game' and settings Font rendering in game - everywhere, as above this makes certain things difficult, e.g. in game tutorials and subtitles. If you've not played the game through properly before these will be sorely missed. Due to the menu issue Video, Audio and Control settings can not be edited in game (I suspect they could be configured directly through the ini files however). Wrt controls having the manual around is essential for keyboard play.

Workarounds
