Shogo: Mobile Armor Division

I bought the game years ago, but it seems the v 2.2 download on Monolith's website gives you the full game.

At the website there is also the source for the SDK (Software Development Kit) with everything needed for modding. The source does not include the game engine Lithtech

What works

Yo, I recently installed ShogoVer. 2.2 on my Dell XPS 410 using Ubuntu 8.04 hardy X86-64. The game installed, it ran, I set the graphics.

Here are the settings I used...(By the way, I used non-Ubuntu graphic card drivers (I don't think it matters) (I only did so to use the 3d cube settings))...

Rendering: 3D rendering NOT software rending ((my vid card is a nvidagforce 64mb something or what not))

Display: 1280x1024

Textures: 16 bit (default is 8 bit)

Advanced settings: High (actually used a modified high or what I like to call "advanced high" (best graphical configuration with all the whistles and bells))

Everything in the game runs smoothly, the game only slows down slightly during the menu screen and it ONLY does this when configuring graphic settings and game controls. Everything in the game renders flawlessly and looks beyond amazing. I only found 1 (one) glitch which is why I skipped a multi-player test.

What does not

The mouse look in the games is a little shaky. Not so shaky that the game is unplayable but shaky enough that a Shogo player from back in the day (aka me) can get annoyed pretty quick. Its only shaky when you use the mouse though. I set the mouse look controls to be used on the keyboard for a little test and I discovered that yes it is the mouse. I tried configuring the game itself, wine, and even Ubuntu's mouse controls but nothing rectifies the problem. Multi-player + shaky mouse = pissed of Harry, so multi-player wasn't test, sorry.

Additional Comments

Look it got a platinum because everything works awesome other than a bit of a shaky mouse. If anyone out in Internet land can help me (wink-wink, nudge-nudge) I would greatly freaking appreciate the help. I love this game and would really like to play it again and chances are my dumb ass just hasn't set something correctly. As the super hot, red headed, half alien, captain planet wannabe Leeloo once said to Korben Dallas in 1997's "The Fifth Element"...Ple-ase Hel-p.
