What works

From what I can tell everything. This is the Steam version. Install is never a problem on this platform. The game loaded up fine, plays fine, and all looks good.

What does not

Well I've see two issues so far;

1. Combat is _slow_. There should be some back and forth between ships in combat (maybe a seperate pop up for fleets on fleets, cant remember its been a while). But it does eventually finish, but not for ages.

2. Videos can crash games, you can turn most of them off but every now and then a video (or animated cutscene) will cause game to crash. I suggest turning autosave to every month)

Workarounds

Additional Comments

The game runs out the box but considering the two issues I face, silver it is.

Music garbled & crashing
by Andrew Smart on Friday April 4th 2014, 2:49
If your game crashes within a minute or two, or the music is garbled, try using winetricks to use the native quartz dll. Or rebuild wine without the assertion (music will be garbled then stop but at least the game won't crash): bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31504#c5

Battles appeared to be way slow for me, until I disabled my desktop manager's display effects.
