Since someone got version 9 running as gold under Ubuntu, I'm not sure if it's the 64-bit architecture that's the problem. If 9 works, 8 ought to, since it's very similar code under the hood. (The major boundaries with regard to features in Cakewalk are versions 5, 8, and Sonar (10).) I'm very new to wine, and I'm hoping there's a way to get this program to work. Since I'm so new, I didn't want to rate this, but I wanted to vote for it. I know a good bit about Cakewalk, next to nothing about wine.
