Additional Comments

Windows version set to XP.

The following issues also plague the game when running on Windows, so they are listed here, not as workarounds :

  • Installing dgVoodoo2 (and optionally dxvk via winetricks) is recommended in order to get somewhat better-looking graphics. I played the game at 1440p by forcing the resolution, as the maximum supported by the game itself is 1024x768. If you do this, you must add an override for ddraw and set it to native.
  • A frame limiter is necessary, as the speed of the main game loop appears to be tied to be framerate. Running at 60fps makes the game unplayable due to its speed being too high. I used libstrangle to limit the game to 30fps and it worked very well.
