Running MS Train Simulator on Wine.
You need a proper graphics driver - it works with nvidia 260 at me. If you compiled the driver yourself on 64-bit Linux, you also need to compile it 32-bit as MSTS is 32-bit only.
You may need to setup a virtual desktop if you're having problems with the screen resolution. At me it doesn't have any problem setting my resolution from 1280x800 to 1024x768 when playing - MSTS does not support widescreen resolutions. Other people report trouble with bigger resolutions but this may also be an MSTS bug.
The MSTS update and MSTSBin just install without any problem. Many addons in .exe format also install fine.
What does not
Detecting the 2nd CD during install - there's a workaround.
Before install, you mount the 1st disc as E: (for example) in the Wine configuration (it's often /media/MSTS_CD1 or /media/cdrom). When it asks for the 2nd disc, you replace the disc and mount the 2nd disc at the same drive letter.
