Additional Comments
Performance with the new beta NVIDIA (169.04) drivers is greatly improved (even on a 6600GT), it's finally playable now. This might be because of the new wine version also, but i still find disabling GLSL a better choice, because of the graphics. Enabled, there is no sky, also the whole picture is very dark. Disabled, it is as it's supposed to be.

game require d3dx9_36.dll from native environment. can be automatically installed via winetricks:
winetricks d3dx9
if you experience some graphical corruption or your game hangs up in particular places, try to set
OffscreenRenderingMode
to fbo, pbuffer or backbuffer in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D]
registry branch with
regedit
please, check game with all the different options, post screenshots, write test data and bug reports
while bug in quartz don't let us play games with our quartz.dll, it is possible, however, to use quartz.dll from game's,well... native environment. then:
1) set loading order of that dll to "native, buit-in" via
winecfg
2) install ffdshow via winetricks:
winetricks ffdshow
3) when game starts and trying to show first video, window may pop-up and ask if you want to use ffdshow:
game may hang-up unexpectedly. please, test it with ffdshow, wmp, both and without (maybe with k-lite codec pack too)
