Tested and working Xnews version 2006.08.24. This works, although you will need several dll files from your Windows installation to be put in the xnews directory to make it all work well. Thanks to Mike Dee in for getting inline jpg images to work. This was done by taking 5 dll files from a real Windows XP system and putting them into your xnews directory. These 5 files are:

In winecfg, my current Libraries used with Xnews are as follows:

comctl32 (native, builtin)
ole32 (native, builtin)
oleaut32 (native, builtin)
riched20 (native, builtin)
riched32 (native, builtin)

Copy the files to your xnews directory then run winecfg in a term window and assign each library as so listed above. Also, this is Important for inline images:

This really works great as there is nothing in Linux that compares to Xnews. The only thing that comes close is Pan and it does not do half of what Xnews does.
