If the Photoshop splash screen comes up but seems to hang at "Initializing Suites...", try running the program in desktop mode instead of full-screen mode. When starting Photoshop and ImageReady I get dialog boxes warning me about font issues requiring a re-install of the program, but these appear to have no effect on actual usage. I get a big list of crazy fonts when I use the text tool in Photoshop, including all the standard Windows fonts. I also noticed that my Tools and Layers palettes disappeared when I closed the very first image I opened up. Can't get this to repeat now though. If this happens to you, just hide and re-show your palettes by selecting the appropriate items from the Window menu.
