The installer gave various iKernel.exe related errors until I copied the files to my home directory and used sudo to run wine. After that, it installed without problems. The program runs and displays its splash screen. After that, it cannot be used for its intended purpose.
What does not
The program has does not display correctly. Items in the menu and toolbar appear when the mouse cursor hovers over or clicks on them, but disappear when not activated. The docked toolbar shows parts of other application windows. This appears to be some type of window-display-refresh problem. When I tried to load images to stitch, the following message popped up: "Stitcher internal error. Aborting."
What was not tested
Not much could be tested because of screen refresh problems and an error when loading images.
I just stumbled upon the CD I got with a magazine that was supposed to contain a "full commercial copy" of this program, and I thought it would be fun to try it out in wine. It's only a demo now because the website to obtain a serial number is no longer active, but it's no big loss because Hugin has always given me better results than this program ever did.
