The application fails to launch.
What does not
There are several issues, some of which can be worked around but still do not get you to the main application.
First, if you try to start the game from a real CD it will create a window that is a single pixel in size and then hang. It will do this forever.
The CD drive also becomes unusable and you will have to reboot the system to get it usable again.
I copied my CD to an ISO image. To verify the integrity of this image I used it to run the game in a virtual machine. The game had several graphical glitches but was otherwise fine.
I then mounted this ISO image as a CD drive using cdemu. This time the game made it past the blank pixel window but then immediately crashed with a page fault.
I tried using an emulated desktop and setting compatibility mode to Windows XP without success.
What was not tested
The development build of Wine or older versions of Wine.
