The Installation works without any problems, even the progress bar is working properly.
Client update works without any problems.
You can either start the game windowed or fullscreen.
New skins for the GUI need to be extracted manual:
german: http://daoc-ui.com/forum/Changing the zone and moving around is no problem and works fine.
What does not
Pixel shader needs to be disabled to run the game and this results in old character models (tested all kind of different settings and couldn't get this to works it crashes on character selection screen)
The mouse arrow is flickering and most of the time not visible (haven't tested any hacks here, only the standard 0.9.43 version of wine)
If I play in windowed mode and leave the window the game still runs, but if I click back into the window it crashes (same problem if I change the applications with Alt+Tab using the windowmanager)
While playing the game it comes to several error messages of the wineserver, but the game won't crash due to those errors
The graphic has several errors, black holes around objects and more
What was not tested
I didn't try any of the hacks (e.g. mouse-hack)
It is worth to install, because there is no need to try Cedega which has exact the same issues with this version of the game (tried it with 6.0.2)

Applying The Patch:
cd $HOME/Download/wine patch -p0 < wine-X-cursor-hack.patch # If you have already installed from source, just re-run make make -s > /dev/null && sudo make install
Alternately, you can run make from within the $HOME/Download/wine/dlls/winex11.drv folder and copy winex11.drv.so to wherever wine was installed, probably /usr/local/lib/wine.
If you are worried about the cursor hack messing up other programs you can run wine directly from the source tree without installing:
