Additional Comments

I tested multiple different areas of the program and the actual tested version is 0.9.59 (tested release dropdown didn't show 0.9.59). The help area needs quite a bit of help. You can open the help window but not close it. It's missing all images that are part of the help and index and search does not work. The program itself doesn't seem to have any big problems. I noticed that the text in File->Preferences and under the Labels, Titles, LDS Tab, the checkbox text (Add LDS formats to reports and use LDS layout for family group sheets) is clipped on the top and bottom making it difficult to read but it still can be checked. You can't change any of the radio buttons under File->Print Setup. I tested printing of a Fan Ancestor family tree as well. The layout prints properly but some of the text comes out screwed up which makes the print out pretty much useless. Results of my print out test: Names print properly. letters b (birth), m (marriage) and d (death) print properly. Numbers from dates print properly and some letters in the location of birth, marriage and death. The months don't print properly. It basically looks like a bunch of pipes. Example: 03 ||| 1932 FYI, I tried printing out with Arial and Georgia fonts and had the same semi-legible text. I have a Canon i560 printer that has fairly good support in cups but not excellent so that could be the issue as well (although text prints fine from linux apps with it). YMMV. Also, the installer complains about not detecting IE even if you have it installed (ies4linux does not help). As suggested previously, it seems the workaround is to get the winetricks program and install fakeie6 which will add the registry settings that Family Tree Maker uses to detect whether IE is installed.
