Firebird client
Firebird client files could be deployed manually to IBExpert install folder.
fbclient.dll
msvcp80.dll
msvcr80.dll
Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest
They could be obtained from the Firebird Windows zip package from http://www.firebirdsql.org/
Or you can install Firebird client from Firebird Windows Installer
ATTENTION!!!!
Since wine version 1.1.32, it's platinium, the folowing instructions are for older versions
Instalation (versions of wine older than 1.1.32):
1. Check that you don't have wine_gecko installed (from ubuntu package or manually installed) because it is not compatible with ibexpert direct window.
2- don't run ibexpert before doing next steps, if you did it, you will need to delete .wine directory and start again.
3- Install DCOM98, you can use "winetricks" (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) for this, but after install it, delete the rpcrt4 dll override in winecfg.
Or you can manually install DCOM98 as follow:
- Download dcom98.exe from microsoft
- Using winecfg set wine as win98
- rm ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ole32.dll
- rm ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/oleaut32.dll
- WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32=n" wine DCOM98.EXE
- using winecfg, add native dll overrides for ibexpert: ole32, oleaut32
- now you can set wine back to Win-XP if you need
4- install ibexpert.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For older versions of wine older than 1.0:
The same steps as avobe plus following steps, (before installing ibexpert)
4- replace riched20.dll and msls31.dll (copy from a win98 or winxp distribution)
5- in winecfg add native dll overrides for ibexpert: riched20
6- install ibexpert.
