The installer for splinter cell 1.0 works and the 1.2b update which can be downloaded from Ubi soft.com.The game has a few bugs listed below that can be annoying but its playable.
What does not
Some textures appear buggy as if light was shining on them even though they will be in the shadows.Resolutions above 640x480 does not work and causes the game to mess up in a window when you load it.One level was very slow and was not playable.Night vision causes Graphically problems, heat vision causes slow down.
What was not tested
Nothing....I loaded every one of the levels at least once.
In order to get the game at least playable, you have to edit the registry to:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] "OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo" "VideoMemorySize"="256"

For Windows and Linux systems who have newer video cards:
The shadow placements may be incorrect – Spot light beams may not appear, flash light beams may not appear, ceiling light beams may not appear.
To fix this do the following:
The textures from the PlayStation 3 port of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell are higher definition and can be installed by overwriting the existing textures.
The HD textures are mostly faithful to the original textures.
