Game is rather old, I was surprised it didn't work flawlessly as fast as the wine project moves. I never used a no-cd patch and I tried a few registry keys but in most cases this just made the game run worst.

For Windows and Linux systems who have newer video cards:
The shadow placements may be incorrect – Spot light beams may not appear, flash light beams may not appear, ceiling light beams may not appear.
To fix this do the following:
The textures from the PlayStation 3 port of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell are higher definition and can be installed by overwriting the existing textures.
The HD textures are mostly faithful to the original textures.
