Computer Configuration. OS: Kubuntu 12.04 x86_x64 Motherboard: ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe/Mempipe CPU: AMD Athlon II x3 445 3.1 GhZ Mem.: 4G DDR2 800 MhZ Video: Palit GeForce 250 GTS E-GREEN

If playing with an ATI graphics card, there will be some settings that won't work.

 Under certain circumstances, system-freezes with no apparent reason can happen.

1.

Download this no-gg Patch.

Extract the file and replace the Lineage II/system/ folder with the one from the downloaded archive.

2. (isn't needed anymore with wine 0.9.50)

Put the four dlls

• dpmodemx.dll
• dpnet.dll
• dpwsock.dll
• dpwsockx.dll

from an original Windows Installion (or download them from the Internet) in your wines /windows/system32/ folder.

Then edit your /etc/security/limits.conf (this is an Unix Path) so the End of the file looks like this:

* hard nofile 16383
# End of file

Run the winecfg.

Go to "Application" and add l2.exe (from LineageII/system) and LineageII.exe (from the main Linage II Folder) and set Windows Vista as Version for both files.

Some times you'll get an error message saying:

You have triggered a bug in the DirectX 9.0 runtime. Please install DirectX 8.1b (or later) for a fix. See Release Notes for instructions on how to obtain it.

If so open a terminal run

wineserver -k

After wine has terminated all running process start Linage II again.

If the errror still remains try install this DXGL Wrapper.

Download it here.

Install it and check boxes for "Emulate Direct3D" and "Enabel Polygon filter"

6. For performance advancement try to start Linage by running this commands:

cd /PATH/TO/YOUR/LINAGE2/SYSTEM/FOLDER

WINEDEBUG=-all wine l2.exe

or

cd /PATH/TO/YOUR/LINAGE2/SYSTEM/FOLDER

WINEDEBUG=-all wine explorer /desktop=foo,1024x768 l2.exe
