Selected Test Results

What works

almost everything except a key element of the game (the inventory):

  • installation
  • intro, cutscenes
  • sound
  • music (requires native amstream.dll and quartz.dll)
  • visuals
  • saving and loading

What does not

  • pressing the right mouse button to show the inventory does nothing
  • occasionally freezes (showing a heap corruption in the log)

Workarounds

What was not tested

the whole game: I could only walk around, but without the inventory functioning the game is unplayable

Hardware tested

  • GPU:
  • Driver:

Additional Comments

Gamersgate version of the game. The non-working inventory bug makes this game unplayable, thus the Garbage rating. This is due to a long-standing regression in Wine. Once it will be fixed the game should deserve Gold. For music to work you need native amstream.dll and quartz.dll (both can be installed via winetricks). Nvidia 7600 GT / driver 256.53
