What works
Everything is working fine even in high intensity Arena battles.
What does not
Before I turned off debugging and copied the installation over the game was like how people are describing, completely unplayable. If you don't already have windows I suggest trying what I did through the wine installer

Additional Comments
I gave it a silver rating cause of the minor artifacts that come and immediately dissapear. Game is completely runnable and deserves a Silver rating not a Garbage rating. What I Did 1. I went into Wine config added GW as an app running in "XP" mode, 98 mode is not needed. 2. Driver Emulation is turned off 3. I copied the entire guild wars installation over from my XP installation. The entire program file for guildwars resides in my documents folder. 4. I turned off Wine debugging using the "-all" command Thats everything I did and I got it to working. Idealy it seems, that copying the program installation from windows to a native linux folder keeps the game from bogging down. Data fetching seems really slow if the copy is not done. *NOTE* upon GW start up after the connection screen and before the character select screen I get a flash artifact screen. It goes away immediately and there are no further game problems. Any experiencing artifacts still may want to try turning off shadows.

NOTE: Guild Wars usually doesn't require any special settings to get working. The advice listed below is only for those who require help installing, running, or troubleshooting Guild Wars.
Installation:
Simply use the installer found at guildwars.com. Unzip the installer and run it using Wine:
wine GwSetup.exe
Running:
WINEDEBUG=-all wine "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe"
WINEDEBUG=-all will stop the flood of fixme messages generated from normal use. If you require debugging, omit this option.
Troubleshooting:
If you are having graphics issues, use regedit to try some registry keys:
Appending these flags to the run command may help you:
