Endnote Version 11.
Installs Runs Import/Export references. Able to create .ENLX compressed libraries. Format RTF documents created in OpenOffice. If a reference contains Unicode and you use the "Tools > Format Paper" command to format the document, the Unciode is formatted correctly in the RTF document (see the comment under What does no work, why I mention this). Could connect to the Library of Congress' Z39.50 server. Could download references from the PubMed web site and then import them into the library.
What does not
Not able to have Unicode characters displayed correctly, they appear as either ; or < depending on the font selected in EndNote. Could not connect to PubMed from within EndNote, possible problem due to the PubMed connection taking place over port 80 Could not connect to EndNote Web, it too uses port 80 Line wrapping in the preview does not work correctly 100% of the time. Some references had text go off screen and did not wrap to the next line.
What was not tested
Connecting to Web of Science or other Z39.50 servers. Editing content files, i.e. Output styles, Import Filters, or Connection files
The things that did not work for me were somewhat minor IMO. The main issue would be the PubMed connection, and since you can use the PubMed website to download and then import the references, I find it usable.

When using a wine version prior to wine 1.1.5 (which is not recommended) you need to change the windows setting to Windows2000 for the installation. After the installation you can set the winver to XP, Endnote will run with both 2000 or XP.
