Additional Comments
I've seen that some users have been able to download the .amz file and run the application from the command line, passing in the file, and it will at least download your music. I was unable to test this because I didn't have anything I wanted to buy. That might make it Bronze instead of Garbage.

Make sure you operate on a cleaÂn WINEPREFIX (~/.wine)!
Prerequisite installation by using 'winetricks' script
Winetricks will take care of all needed installation prerequisites and work around some problems.
Run the app installer:
ÂRun the application with the .amz file as first argument to start downloading:
$ pwdÂ
/home/<your_username>/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Amazon/MP3 DownloaderÂ
$ wine AmazonMP3Downloader.exe foo.amzÂ
Bad programming practice/error handling. The application tries to add the downloaded file to the media library by default using "Windows Media Player" without any error checking.
You can disable this behaviour in application settings -> "do nothing".
Alternatively, installing Windows Media Player also works around:
$ winetricks -q wmp9
