Installer, automatic update mechanism
What does not
My video card recently blew a capacitor, so I'm on a backup video card that does not support the GLX extension. The "option" button in the launcher/updater crashes without DirectX9/GLX. The updater does not redraw itself properly, especially if another window overlaps, which could cause some to believe it has frozen or crashed.
What was not tested
Everything else. I tried clicking the "option" button, which seems to perform a quick compatibility check, and crashed with an "unknown exception" error, while in the console wine indicated the lack of GLX support that it needs to run DirectX 9 stuff. As a result, I didn't dare try the game itself.
I'll retest once I have a working, MODERN video card, and see if I can get any farther. So far, it looks like they just need to rethink their launcher's redraw function to make the launcher function properly, along with better exception handling in their "options" program.
