What works
Installer requires flash and Java to run (free from adobe and sun-micro respectively)
Game requires IE6 or later to run edit the registry to reflect that IE is installed http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys not very clear, head to the IRC channel for assistance if you can't figure it out yourself.
It might require IE to run however, and I've not tested that theory yet.
msvcp60.dll is needed to run the game launcher updater. once installed the updater works.
