  • Connect client eventually works (as noted previously remove the default root '/' dosdrive mapping from wine and it will connect much faster)

Additional Comments

Admin note: rating changed to conform to the rating definitions based on performance in unpatched Wine. Current system is using a Radeon 7870 with the Mint fglrx packaged driver - 2:13.350.1-0 amd64. The game is seems to be functional only after the above patch is made. Suggested settings/tweaks for similar setup: 1. Patch - (required) 2. create 32bit wine prefix for daoc (env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/path/to/daocprefix winecfg) 3. remove z: from default drive mapping. This should allow basic gameplay. For additional performance (with minor graphical glitches): 1. disable glsl in winetricks (env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/path/to/daocprefix winetricks) 2. rtlm - readraw (minor improvement only) 3. In game settings - disable SI trees (otherwise major draw errors) 4. For additional performance lower clip plane setting in game also. After applying all of the above, the performance is very playable.

Using FBO as the ORM crashes with fglrx drivers

This is not a Wine bug, it is a fglrx bug.  Please do not open a bug for this, it will just be closed.
