What does not

I had this problem

"System Locale Error for English (United States)_USA.1252"
I determined it was a problem with wine.  I tried several versions
even the latest and still had this problem.

When I downgraded to these wine versions the problem went away.

mapsource version is 6.11.6

As in other reports, I had to create a symlink to /dev/ttyUSB0 for wine. I have 3 different versions of gdiplus it seems. One of them is listed in the registry. This was suspect in the system local message bug. ./windows/system32/gdiplus.dll ./gdiplus.dll ./PCOMP5/gdiplus.dll Here is the registry entry [Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Installer\\UserData\\S-1-5-4\\Components\\F1B496B301445D115AA4000972A8B18B] 1239930706 "AB959DE8931DD56419357C9449E54BC5"="C:\\gdiplus.dll" I custom built wine for version wine-1.1.40-1.1 and I still had the system local message bug.
