The Version on the disc.
As far as I can tell, everything albeit in a window rather than full screen.
What does not
In 32-bit colour mode (which is default on most/all systems these days) the texts didn't show as per the bug that's linked to this app db record.
Also the updater package to install the 1.03 update claims that I have the wrong version installed and refuses to install the update; the workaround is to extract the updated files and overwrite the corresponding files in the install directory manually.
I didn't have a MIDI synthesiser installed so I had no music, but I'm guessing that could be fairly easily rectified and is probably not an issue with Wine per se.
On the first attempt to run Airline Tycoon Evolution, it failed with a page fault.
The "Emulate Virtual Desktop" option got past that but then I was impacted by the bug that fonts were not displaying.
To get the fonts to display, I ran the following from the directory where Airline Tycoon Evolution was installed.
Xephyr :1 -screen 640x480x16 -ac &
DISPLAY=:1 wine at.exe
"Emulate virtual desktop" is not necessary with this method although if any dialog boxes come up, using Emulate Virtual Desktop eliminates the delay caused by not having a window manager loaded and enables the dialog boxes to display correctly with window decorations etc. For normal gameplay this is irrelevant as no standard dialog boxes or windows are used in the game.
