What works
Everything tested. Single-Player campaign, AI Skirmish with any faction. Mouse pointers work. Runs windowed or full-screen. Performance seemed just as solid as under windows.
What does not
Once or twice game booted without sound. Restarted and it worked fine. Also, text is a little glitchy. Very readable, but looks "scrunched".
Workarounds
What was not tested
Online multiplayer

Additional Comments
A couple changes were necessary. The first may be a given, but I needed to disable the checkboxes under Wine Config so that the window decorator would not take over. With these checked, the resolutions would not display properly, the cursors would not animate as intended, and mouse clicks would not register. Also, I found it works best (for me) running under Windows XP compatibility mode. *NOTE* The above refers to the version of DoW: Dark Crusade downloaded and installed through Steam. I cannot attest to the performance of the retail package. Hardware: Intel Core2Duo at 1.8GHz 2GB DDR 800 PNY Verto 9600GT 10,000 RPM Raptor Ubuntu 8.10 X86_64-bit

After you installed the game you may get a performance boost if you use the latest version of DirectX 9.
The easiest way to do so, is using winetricks:
winetricks directx9

If you have problems with completely corrupted textures the problem might be that your systems lacks a library that is used for texture compression in Dawn of War.
Under Debian based system install the package "libtxc-dxtn-s2tc0" and try again.
