With last wine version (1.7.30) it crashes after every game. I suggest you to download Gorgonian's Graphics pack ( http://gorgonian.weebly.com/babaschess.html ), Scid vs Pc for post game analysis and to use an older version of wine.

"It seems that you must choose "everyone" (Who can use this programm at setup window) and NOT "just me". If you choose "just me" then babaschess crash and you have to do a new installation of babaschess."
I have found the zip packages to to best. You can find them on the download page (http://www.babaschess.net/download.asp) towards the middle.
I tend to turn off the emoticons in the program.
