Game analysis using crafty would not work. Maybe with some fiddling someone can figure it out. Fooling around with themes seems to cause it to hang randomly.

My wine installation is tainted by some native windows dlls being used; however, I don't know if it is necessary to do so. Menu font is too small regardless of what I do in win.ini.

"It seems that you must choose "everyone" (Who can use this programm at setup window) and NOT "just me". If you choose "just me" then babaschess crash and you have to do a new installation of babaschess."
I have found the zip packages to to best. You can find them on the download page (http://www.babaschess.net/download.asp) towards the middle.
I tend to turn off the emoticons in the program.
