simply copy the entire Ulead Photoimpact folder from your c:\windows\program files\ to a suitable location in your Linux home directory, and double click "Iedit.exe" to run. Thanks so much to Wine Developing Team! You are really my hero! wine-0.9.48 now runs both photoimpact 7.0 & 8.0 flawlessly!
