CC3 contains a lot of improvements over version 2, such as the ability to use raster artwork, as well as support for effect filters.

What works
Installation of CC3, Update10, CD3 and DD3 - but see my notes.
Create new map.
Add landmasses, roads, rivers, symbols, zoom in & out, move and rotate entities.
Save map.
What does not
No issues noted thus far. The screen flashes when doing refreshes, and some commands seem to take a little longer than on Windows.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Advanced mapping functions (scale, break, etc).
Installation of any unlisted addons.
Installation on wine versions other than 1.5.x and 1.2.1
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
Installed via PlayOnLinux, with clean 32-bit wineprefix. Install fails on 1.5.xx of wine, so I went back to 1.2.1 which works. Installed CC3, Update10, CD3, DD3 in that order.

Note. This used to be the procedure to get CC3 to work, but under recent Wine version, I cannot get it to install at all any more.
Hopefully this will change in the future.
When opening existing maps, you'll find that the fonts don't render the same size as on Windows.
This can be fixed by changing the font properties of the existing text in the map and unchecking the 'Use New Metrics' option. This should cause the fonts to render the same size (extremely close anyway) as they did on Windows, and they'll still display fine if you open that map in Windows.
You should obviously keep this option off for any new text you place if you want to be able to open the map in Windows and have it look the same.

Will be trying out with 0.9.52 shortly.
This is on OpenSuse 10.3 (retail dvd).
Then I'll see how the various addons work (I have the "whole shebang") of all the other products and add ons.
