What works

Everything works provided you follow the extra steps below.

What does not

The map view lags slightly when objects are selected. De-select any objects by clicking on an empty area and the game's speed will return to normal.

The control room panel suffers from this lag as well. This is not much of a problem as most commands can be carried out via the menus.

The periscope station suffers from lag as well. It is still usable though.

Workarounds

What was not tested

I did not test the Seawolf or the Akula, but I am pretty sure they work fine.

Additional Comments

There are a few adjustments that must be made before the game can be run properly. First, open Wine Config and go to the Graphics tab. Select "Emulate a virtual desktop" and de-select "Allow Pixel Shader." Second, the game's sound files must be configured to play properly. Fetch the following program. http://subguru.com/DW_missions/scsoundedit.zip Locate Sub Command\Audio\Sfx\agg.sfx and use the above program to extract the .wav files from it. Remove or rename sfx.agg and then create a new directory named "sfx.agg+" and place the .wav files in it. Next we must do something similar to the vehicle specific sound files. Locate Sub Command\Interfaces\688I\sfx.agg. (In this case I am only modifying the sfx.agg for the 688I. If you want to drive one of the other subs just use this same method on it.) Extract the .wavs from the vehicle specific sfx.agg and remove or rename the sfx.agg when done. This time, instead of creating a new directory for them, we will leave them in the current directory (Sub Command\Interfaces\688I) and add a new prefix to their names. All the .wav files must be renamed with the prefix "sfx.agg+". Use a batch renamer for this. After these modifications are made the game will run perfectly. There are several other .agg files which contain mission briefing recordings. These are not crucial as you can read the briefing yourself, but the method used on vehicle sfx.agg files will work on them too. (These .agg's are located in the Scenario directory.)
