The installation runs fine.
The game generally works fine, with some quirks (see below).
What does not
There are some issues with the mouse cursor and the screen resolution. The game defaults to 800x600 fullscreen, but didn't get on top of my desktop panels in GNOME. This seems to cause the cursor to appear about a half-inch or more below where it really is. You can get through the main menus by clicking the button below the one you want. This problem went away after I changed the resolution to 1280x1024 (I first tried to set it to 1600x1200, but it would crash and reset back to 800x600), getting it on top of my entire desktop and allowing me to click where I thought I was clicking. Started a new game, and then saw that the cursor, while hidden, was only acting within the boundaries of the screen, meaning I could turn the character 180 degrees from one edge of the screen to the other. I could use the numpad to turn, but it doesn't work well for me for regular play.
Also, it left me in 800x600 when I quit back to my desktop, regardless of which resolution the game was at.
What was not tested
Extensive play of single player mode.
