Based on the same engine as Panzer General 3D Assault, Scorched Earth uses the newer 3D graphics engine and leader/promotion system.

The game was initially released by Acclaim Entertainment back in 1999 but today development is held active by fans via The Re-Volt 1.2 Update. Installing this update is highly recommended for both multi-player and single-player.
